Dogs Deserve Shelter PDF Print E-mail

One of the most common animal cruelty calls we get is that there is a dog without a dog house out in the rain or cold. Shelter from the elements is one of  the most basic needs of a dog. Most of the people who have these dogs are low income and cannot afford to go out and buy a suitable dog house.

Since our first concern as an Animal Cruelty Investigator is the safety and well being of the animal it is our duty to help achieve this any way we can. To do this we have started a great program. The "Dogs Deserve Shelter Program". Our goal is to provide a safe and warm dog house for these dogs ASAP. To help dogs without shelter we are asking for donations of  plastic dog houses of all sizes. They can be new or used as long as they are clean and in usable condition.

We have already started providing dog houses to these deserving dogs. It really warms your heart to see how they react. It makes them really happy. They are pawing in the straw we provide and they act like their  new dog house is a castle. To them it is. Help us give more deserving dogs this great feeling.

This also gives us an excellent opportunity to educate the dogs people on how to properly care for their pets. This will include encouraging and providing spay/neuter through our SNAP Program (Spay/Neuter Alliance Program), offering free and low cost micro chipping,  how to provide shade and adequate water in the summer heat and much more. Our goal is to help Dogs and Cats and all the other animals people call friends by helping and educating their guardians. We see this as a community out reach program and we want to do it because it's the right thing to do.

Our need is immediate,  urgent and on going so please call if you can HELP with the donation of a dog house.
